Weight Loss Goals

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Just for the record..I'm doing better. I did OK yesterday besides having Spanish rice but I did a lot better than I have been.

As I type this, I am eating a ground turkey burger on a whole wheat bun with real mayo, mustard, ketchup and a tomato slice, and I am drinking water.  Yeah, I kinda forgot I shouldn't be having mayo, so I need to keep that in mind for next time. I'm eating slower again, taking my time and not scarfing my food down.

Tonight for dinner I am thinking about having chicken/turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread...and if I can get to a store and look for those "pop chips" things, then those to go with it. Or possibly a grilled turkey cutlet with natural (no salt or sugar) green beans. :)

I'm feeling pretty good. I know I can stick to this.

My sister made something else for lunch, and I made sure to make my own meal. I need to take control over what I eat, so I am! I've got the food, I've got the mentality...now to stick with it!

I'm alive, and I am back

I have been away a while, I know!

I've also been doing horribly as far as my diet goes.

I stopped babysitting, and I didn't think it would be so hard to eat healthy being at home, but it's harder than I thought. I live with my sister and her family, and what they buy/eat, is basically what I eat since I really don't have the money to buy my own food. They don't eat healthy, and most of the time eat out.

So, needless to say, I've been eating like shit, eating out, eating fried foods, not exercising worth a crap. I know I gained a few pounds back and I am JUMPING BACK ON THE WAGON before I gain it ALL back!!

So, I applied for food stamps and I got them. I went grocery shopping and got nothing but "healthy" foods. Last time, I completely cut out breads... so I'm gonna try now to have only whole wheat breads and see how I do.

I'll share my grocery list here so if anything sounds off or something just let me know! I don't know if I'll be updating daily like I used to but I would at least like to update again weekly... I've got to get myself in gear again! I totally let it all go and I feel like crap about it.

Here is my grocery list:

Bag of Boneless/skinless chicken breasts
2 rolls ground turkey
2 rolls taco seasoned ground turkey
Box of 6 ground turkey patties
4 ground turkey cutlets
Ground turkey hot dogs
chicken and Turkey sandwich meat
Whole wheat bread
Whole wheat hamburger and hot dog buns
Bag of Salad
Ranch dressing
Tomatoes
Banana's
Unsalted/Non-Shelled peanuts
Simply Jif peanut butter
Tortilla's (will get whole wheat later)

I've got to get a couple of Mrs.Dash seasonings and I should be good for a little while. :) The only "unhealthy" things I got were lunchables, cookies and some ice cream for my nieces. I didn't get ANYTHING unhealthy for me. Not even a "ohhh, well I will just have this every now and then" type of snack.  There are a few more items I need that aren't meal items but stuff to snack on, so if anybody has any good, healthy snack idea's (besides peanuts or peanut butter/banana/honey tortilla roll ups) Let me know! :)

Oh, and I want to send a big *HUG* to Kim. She constantly kept in contact trying to figure out what was going on with me, why I wasn't blogging and trying to motivate me. It helped, girl, thank you! I really appreciate it more than you know! I'm sorry I slipped up there but I am back in action!!

Monday, May 30, 2011

My plan fell through to log my meals this weekend, but I already knew it was going to be a non-stop busy weekend being it was memorial day weekend and I already had plans all day every day for those 3 days.

I did okay though. If anything, I probably didn't eat ENOUGH...but when I did, I was alright I think. I guess the scale will tell, lol.

Also, this week is my last week of babysitting. I was supposed to watch them Monday through Friday, but he ended up getting Monday off, so I didn't babysit, and then he was going to pick me up tonight to babysit tomorrow but had 2 tires fucked up on his truck, so he is just going to get me after work tomorrow night and I will watch them Wednesday through Friday. So, I went from 5 days down to 3...which is awesome, except that I was looking forward to that extra pay since it's going to be my last week babysitting. Oh well.

I hope everybody else is doing good and that Memorial day weekend didn't kick your butts!

Happy Memorial Day!

Fell off, but I'm back!

Some of you have noticed I haven't been as active lately. I haven't updated my weight-loss tickers, and I haven't been reading other blogs lately either. For the most part, I've just been really busy and haven't found the time.

I have also slacked a lot, and you can see that from last week's constant ice cream in-take. I decided I don't have long at all to reach my summer goal, and I've got to get as serious as I was when I started this journey again. Last night for dinner I had french fries and fried/breaded chicken strips. So, yeah, not good at all.

I haven't lost any more, and I actually think I gained a few pounds, so I probably won't update my tickers again until I have something to show.

I am not giving up!

My friend and her boyfriend want to buy my HCG drops, so I'll be getting rid of them. I thought about trying to do it again, but screw it. I can do this on my own. HCG was too hard, too restrictive. I didn't finish my round and I have gained all that I did lose back, plus a few I think. Blah.

Oh, and I will only be babysitting another week or 2 and then I will be done for good. I am hoping to get a gym membership with a friend when I'm done and back home for good. I also plan on starting to go walking daily, etc...getting some activity back into my life once I'm done babysitting. It's just hard to find the time here while I'm trying to keep up with the kids and the older one doesn't ever want to go walking and complains after a mile. Not to mention, when it's nap time I just want to have some peaceful alone time; the last thing on my mind is exercise, unfortunately.

But I am back on the wagon. I'm tired of crappy foods and not making any progress.

Summer goal, here I come! (Though it may be a little late now =/)

I will try to catch up with blogs today; Hope everyone is doing well!

Wake up time: 9:10am

10:10am - Breakfast.
A bowl of Kellogg's special K  fruit & yogurt cereal in almond milk.

12:55pm - Snack.

8:00pm - Dinner.
3 ground turkey meatballs in homemade marinara sauce
and a side salad with ranch

9:30pm - Dessert.
A bowl of some chocolatey brownie ice creamy goodness.

I'm not going to feel bad about the decision to have ice cream, because it -was- planned and not a last minute binge craze. I consider my weight-loss journey a LIFE CHANGE, so it would be ridiculous to assume I will never have ice cream again.

Just not often. :)

Hope everyone is doing well.

The macaroni was a no-no, but I was really craving it. I didn't get a whole lot, and I won't be having it again.. at least not for a while, but it was good, and I'm not gonna regret it.

A few bites of low-fat cottage cheese.
I originally got 1/2 cup but there was no way I could finish all of that.

Done with HCG (for now)

Well, I am off HCG and back to the way I was eating before. I've been off for about 3-4 days I guess, and I know I was still supposed to follow the 500 calorie diet for 2-3 days after the drops but of course I quit on a weekend and didn't get to follow it like I planned. Oh well. I am sure I gained some back. I weighed today and had gained most back and was only like 2 pounds under where I was before starting the drops. I am not logging that though, because I did have Mexican food last night and a big drinking night the night before, so I'm hoping it is a temporary gain.

Maybe some time in the future when I am in a stable place I will try it again. It was too time consuming and too much trouble for now. It was nice while it lasted, I guess, but I am kinda glad to be done with it.

I will continue with logging meals, and I know I haven't updated my weight-loss ticker in a while, so I will either update it tomorrow or wait until the weekend on my usual weigh-in day and log it then.

I hope every one had a wonderful weekend and a pleasant mother's day!

OH, and I am also down another pant size, and shirt size! This weekend I wanted a new outfit for a party I was going to. I bought a pair of Capri's, a pair of super-short shorts that I may never even wear but I felt confident that I fit into them and was like, I'm getting these! Lol. I also got a size LARGE shirt! What?! Omg! That's a size 12/14. I don't think I've ever, at least in the last 10 years, worn a shirt that size. It was so exhilarating. I've worn a size 2x for the last few years...so to get a shirt that the size didn't start with a number or an X was a really, really exciting feeling. :)

HCG Drops, Day 13 [R1P2D11]

Pounds Lost Today: -2.3 pounds.

This is good, because I lost my gain from yesterday plus another 0.1 lb, despite the fact that I had a whole wheat tortilla for dinner.

Wake up time: 10:00am

First set of HCG Drops: 10:45am

11:25am - Breakfast.
>>Granny smith apple (80 calories)
+ Big glass of water.

Second set of HCG Drops: 1:00pm

1:45pm - Lunch.
>>4oz Top Sirloin Steak (228 calories)
>>1 cup canned asparagus, drained. (40 calories)

5:05pm - Snack.
>>Granny Smith Apple (80 calories)

Third set of HCG Drops: 6:25pm

Dinner.
I'm going to a seafood restaurant where I will probably have some grilled shrimp, and maybe some grilled scallops. I'm gonna go ahead and update this now since I won't be home later, and I can't tally in my calories from dinner anyway.

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO.

Total Calories Before Dinner: 428
(Doesn't leave many for dinner, so I already know I'm going to go over...)

So here's what I'm thinking...

Thanks for all the comments on my last post. :)

This diet definitely isn't for every body and I realize that. And, like Karyn said, it probably has to do with the time in my life aswell. I'm currently living with my sister, But Sunday night through Thursday night I am "living" where I babysit. The guy I babysit for buys all the foods that I need and I can get along pretty well here, but then I go back to my sister's on weekends, and I want to just be out of the house, partying or soaking up the sun because I've spent the last 4 days cooped up in an apartment with two little girls, 1 1/2 and 3. I don't have a car so I am literally stuck in this apt the entire 4 days, and it drives me nuts.

Also, I'm losing a lot of hair, which is probably because of the 500 calorie diet. Either way, it's freaking me out. My hair is getting thinner and I've only been on this diet 11 days.

I think later on down, when/if I ever get my own place, this would be a lot easier to follow. I wouldn't have to worry about being in a house full of foods I can't have, because I would only buy what was allowed.

I got an interview tomorrow for the Walmart Distribution Center, and I am praying that I get it. I definitely need  more than $120 a week, and they pay well...as well as have pretty great benefits from what I've heard. Eventually I want to get out on my own and start taking care of myself, I don't want to rely on anyone else anymore. Not to mention, the guy I babysit for's ex (and the baby mama) is about to get out of the half-way house, so more than likely she will start taking care of the kids. It was nice while it last but now I am just getting to a point where I can't handle it any more. It isn't like I babysit and then go home, I'm HERE for 4 entire days...and I'm just done with it.

Sooo, to you HCGers, would it be okay for me to cut this session short, or is it like a MUST that I complete the 23 days?? I figure it shouldn't matter too much if I am done with the diet, and if I quit, I will continue doing the 500 calorie diet for 3 days like protocol calls for.

And to anyone else, no worries! Once I am done with HCG, I'm going to continue with my weight loss the way I was before the drops, and I will continue to blog. :)

HCG Drops, Day 12 [R1P2D10]

Pounds Lost Today: +2.2

Bad, bad night last night. The day started out great, but it all went down hill around/after dinner.  I haven't had cookies in 4 months...but I had them last night. And cashews. And half a fried chicken strip.  Yeah, I don't really know what got into me.

I think I was so used to giving MYSELF restrictions, and giving MYSELF limits, that now that I am going by a book, following a protocol and counting calories,  and it's SO limited, it's tough. Before, I ate well... I lost a good 2lb a week usually. I could eat out once or twice a week and it was okay, I usually still lost my 2 pounds, and if not, I at least had a 1 pound loss for the week. Now, if I don't follow the 500 cal diet to a T, I risk gaining weight and then stalling for days. I don't like it. I'm thinking that maybe this diet just isn't the one for me, and that's ok... I am going to try to make it to the 23 or whatever days as best I can and then go back to what I was doing before.

However, today was day 10 and I am still down 6.7 pounds from where I started when I figured up the gains and losses. Not too bad. It averages out to almost a pound and a half a day.

Wake up time: 9:00am

First set of HCG Drops: 10:30am

1:50pm - Lunch.  Grilled Chicken & Apple Salad.
>>2 cups romaine lettuce (about 20 calories)
>>100g grilled chicken (114 calories)
>>One medium tomato  (22 calories)
>>One granny smith apple (80 calories)
>>+ A big glass of ice water.

Second set of HCG Drops: 5:15pm

5:45pm - Snack.
6 strawberries (24 calories)

Third set of HCG Drops: 7:20pm

7:35pm - Dinner. Ground turkey taco
>>100g ground turkey (120 calories)
>>One whole wheat low carb tortilla (80 calories)
>>2 melba toasts (40 calories)

And yes, I know the tortilla wasn't on protocol.

Total calories: 500

HCG Drops, Day 11 [R1P2D9]

Pounds Lost Today:  0.9  :(

Wake up time: 9:15

First set of HCG Drops: 9:55am

10:20am - Breakfast.
>>One granny smith apple. (80 calories)
+ Big glass of ice water.

Second set of HCG Drops: 12:30pm

1:05pm
- Lunch. Ground Turkey Patty & Cabbage.
>> 100g ground turkey (120 calories)
>> 2 cups boiled cabbage (44 calories) with half cup organic, no salt added diced tomatoes (25 calories)

4:45pm - Snack.
6 strawberries. (24 calories)

Third set of HCG Drops: 6:30pm

8:00pm - Dinner.
I had wings 'n more. Had a club wrap with a side salad and ranch. Yeah, it wasn't on protocol at all and I can't even tally up my calories for today. I'm thinking about not even weighing in the morning. Actually, I'm thinking about just weighing weekly again anyway... I think it's easier that way. I had some cashews when I got home too, blah!

My mood is not good and I just had something I was going to enjoy, but still tried to stay healthy, rather than just have  a plain old salad.

Total Calories BEFORE Dinner: 293

P.S.
I am sucking at this HCG thing.
I know I have more motivation than this. I've been eating healthier for months... why does this seem so difficult? I think it's because I like to give -myself- restrictions...and I don't like counting calories and shit... it's just irritating. And I'm irritated today.

Here's hoping to a better rest of the week.

Third set of HCG Drops: 9:45pm (Forgot to take them before dinner.)

Total Calories: 514
I didn't have my 2nd fruit because I already went over in calories and that would put me WAY over.

Not liking the weekends

I did HORRIBLE this weekend. Friday and Saturday, I didn't eat dinner so I didn't get my calories in, and not only that, but I also drank alcohol both days, and not just a drink or 2.

Sunday I went to a mexican restaurant for lunch, though I tried to redeem myself at dinner with a grilled chicken salad w/ tomato.

Weekends are hard for me, so i'm going to have to figure out how to still continue to do this diet during weekends, even if I have to sit my butt at home all weekend. :P

So according to the scale, just from Sunday, apparently I gained back 4.3 pounds. I dunno about that but it sucks, bad.

Ok, so here I am... jumping back on track.
